What you'll be doing
As a Data Engineer, you will mainly be responsible for preparing data for all kinds of analytical or operational uses. Your principal role will be to support our customers’ technical teams in detecting needs and analyzing risks and to design, develop and implement data-heavy applications that operate within their marketing cloud.
You write data pipelines to collect, transform and load data from or to different components within a marketing cloud. You implement algorithms (AI, ML) that are developed by your colleague Data Engineers. You work in multi-cloud environments and are able to work with many different ETL tools and data storage solutions. Together with our Data Analysts, you are able to quickly set up proof of concepts and validate different data strategies and technologies. You are able to work with our client’s technical teams to detect their needs, analyze risks and help them implement technical parts of their marketing cloud.

- Building and maintaining data pipelines.
- Connecting various systems with APIs.
- Setting up and managing data storage systems and analytical databases.
- Coordinating a team of data engineers.
- Advising clients on their data strategy.
- Outlining best practices and counselling on complex digital analytics puzzles related to strategic and technical needs.
- Actively contributing to the preparation and execution of technical training and knowledge sharing.

Job requirements
Our dream candidate
- You’ve got at least 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
- You are fluent in multiple programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java), you are able to work with Jupyter Notebooks and you have a decent understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Graph).
- In addition to advanced Linux knowledge, you also have experience working with at least one other cloud provider (Google, AWS, Azure) and are able to set up and configure servers from scratch.
- Ideally, you also have experience working with ETL technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Talend) and a deep interest in ML and AI technologies.
- Experience with analytical databases (Elastic, ClickHouse, Neo4J), data visualization technologies, enterprise dashboard solutions (Grafana, Kibana, Tableau) message queues, Kubernetes or Docker would be a bonus that would get us really excited.
- You have strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
